Pointer is a address variable. It is used to store address and fetching the value from addresses using * operator.

Example
int *ptr;

ptr - pointing the address
*ptr - pointing the value
Syntax 
datatype *pointer_variable;
Program

	   *ptr = 10;
	   printf("%d",*ptr);
	}
